27 Years...but who's counting?

This past weekend we celebrated my 27th Birthday..seriously 27th. That sounds ridiculously old to me and I haven't really come to embrace it yet. I hope to eventually, but for now I'll just talk about how we celebrated my 23rd Birthday this year. I call 23 my golden year. I felt like everything that year was just amazing and I loved every minute of every day, so from now on, we will just celebrate me turning 23, probably for the rest of forever :). I still remember telling my sister when she was REALLY turning 23 to embrace it and take it all in and to live every moment of every day without a regret and to remember to make mental notes of all the memories you will make this year, because it's the best ever! She later told me 23 was not her golden year haha. I guess it's not for everyone ;). But this year we celebrated a couple of times.

On Thursday, my ACTUAL birthday, David and I both had to work so we snuck in a quick lunch at Red Robin right after I got off work and before David had to head to work. It was a good time, and Beckahm ALMOST warmed up to the clapping birthday singers....almost. After that David headed off to work and Beckahm, Harper and I just hung out and played the rest of the day; I honestly wouldn't have rather spent this day any other way.

Friday our favorite person came down to stay with us--sister/Auntie Kristen and we were all looking forward to that! We stayed up Friday night laughing until our faces couldn't handle it anymore. That's always my favorite part of seeing her! Then Saturday we woke up and just hung out and enjoyed her company. Later on that day we all headed off to Fiesta Fun and scored Beckahm some pretty awesome prizes. He has an obsession with any and every ball out there and we were able to get him every single one they had to offer there so that was the highlight of our night! We went and ate at Bucca di Beppo afterwards and had us some pretty legit Italian food. After eating we headed home and of course let B stay up with his auntie until about 11 o'clock before we finally had to put him to bed because we were all so tired. And of course it was spring forward daylight savings so we lost an hour. Needless to say the night went by too quick!

We had such a good time and I'm so grateful I have such a wonderful sister that I'm able to spend so much time with even though we live so far away from each other. I don't know what I'll do without her in these next couple of months when we move to a different state :(. But for now I'll keep enjoying every minute we get to have with her...and of course document with the millions of pictures we attempt to take each time we see each other!

I have so many pictures of all of the fun we had, but cannot, for the life of me, get them to turn the right way. So I'll have to figure that out and get them up eventually. I love this last picture. B hit the jackpot!!!!!!!

Beckahm's First Hair Cut

This was a day I had been regretting for the longest time. I had always vowed that I would never cut B's hair until he was old enough to decide himself that it was time for a cut. Unfortunately the cut came waaaaaay sooner than I had anticipated. David was the biggest reason behind the haircut so I'll just blame him for now :). Everywhere we went people would call Beckahm a girl, he could be wearing slacks and a tie and STILL get called a girl because of his long curly hair. I just laughed it off, but dad on the other hand was not fond of his little boy being called a princess (yes this happened) haha. So I gave in to a haircut only with the thought in the back of my head being that it would grow in faster and thicker.  I was a little worried how he would react to the scissors and clippers, but he actually didn't even make a sound. He was mostly just interested in watching her cut his hair and curious as to what the heck was going on. My favorite part was seeing him look at himself in the mirror for the first time. I so so wish I would've recorded it. His eyes got real big and he kept touching his mohawk and saying "woooooooow". Hands down, cutest thing ever. And not to mention we cut 4 inches off, it's so crazy to think he really had that long of hair when it was straight! His haircut grew him right up. He no longer looks like my 1 year old baby :(. Although I do love his new little mohawk, B will not be getting his hair cut again...I'm holding my ground this time. And saving myself from the tears of course. Here are some pics of all that cuteness.

This was all the day of his actual hair cut. So crazy how different he looks!

Valentine's Day

I am so behind on my blogging, but could not let all of this Valentine's Day cuteness get left off of the blog. It was Beckahm's first Valentine's Day that he was actually old enough to get a little bit of candy and to really get excited about it, which in turn got me really excited to be able to put a Valentine's box together for him. First we dropped dad's Valentines Day gifts off at the bedroom door and Beckahm was so excited to do that, then next it was his turn to answer the door and find all of his goodies left for him. His expressions are the funnest and he totally makes my day with everything he says. His excitement brings so much joy into our lives and I'm so so grateful for his happy little self. My parents used to always say, " the holidays mean so much more to you when you have your own kids to share them with." That couldn't be more true. This was Harper's first Valentines Day and I was just happy and thankful to have her home with us again, happy and healthy. She went through way more than she ever should have a couple weeks before and she was a trooper through all of the holiday craziness. Her brother ate her candy for her of course, like good big brother's do :). I made them each a little booklet titled 10 things I love about you. I hope to make this a tradition and always always make it known how loved they are. They truly are my world and I will never get sick of showing them off to the world :). Happy Love Day!

Such a BLESSED day 3.3.2013

Harper's Blessing Day was such a beautiful perfect day and she got to spend it with so many friends and family that were able to come and be a part of it. I was upset that the headband I had ordered to go with her dress had not been shipped out when it was supposed to so I had to just whip some up last minute. Other than that it was stress free :). She looked adorable as ever and is a pretty lucky gal to have such a wonderful dad that is able to give her the most amazing blessings when she needs them. I'm grateful for such a supportive, loving family that brings so much joy into our lives. It was so nice to be able to spend time with everyone at her luncheon and catch up on all the latest and greatest going on in all of their busy lives. We will definitely miss living so close to our families once we move and are trying to soak it all up while we can. This truly was such a blessed day.

Grandma Cindy made her this beautiful purple blanket. This is our  way of having her grandma close, even when she's far away. She's the most talented woman I know and my kids are so lucky to be able to call her theirs.

Harper @ 3 Months

3 Month Stats
11 lbs
25" Long

I think this is always one of the funnest stages to experience with my babies. I feel like this is the stage that they really start noticing things, talking more and finding the smallest things so funny and laughing, laughing, laughing. It's the greatest. I wish I could stop time so I could just soak it all up just a little bit more. I feel like after these 3 months I'm completely adjusted and can just relax a little more and love on these babes of mine. I feel like I really know her, her personality, and can recognize all of the small cues she gives for the different things she needs.
  • She is finally fitting into her 0-3's comfortably
  • Wearing a size1-2 diaper
  • Such a happy smiley baby and constantly has the cutest little looks on her face
  • When she is concentrating really hard on something she'll get a little scowl going and her eyebrow starts to look like there's a permanent wrinkle in it, it's hilarious
  • She gets so focused in on anything, especially new things
  • Loves to look in the mirror with mama and pull faces
  • She talks my ear off and I LOVE it!
  • She has started to laugh and can I just say it's the cutest thing I've ever heard.....EVER!
  • Has 2 bottom teeth popping through..which has made her shirt a nice drool catcher
  • Sleeps through the night almost each and every night
  • Loves to grab things and has quite the grip
  • Still not a fan of tummy time, but when she does do it she can lift her head up for the longest time
  • When she is laying on my lap she will pull herself up, it's the craziest thing, so I'm constantly having to hold onto her.
  • Still loves her swing, it will put her right to sleep every time
  • Not the biggest fan of her headbands, but we're getting there
  • Loves her bath time and has moved to her big girl bath
  • Takes the best naps with mom and/or dad
  • She now has more body control and can hold herself up when I'm holding her on my hip.
  • She is constantly moving around and loves to kick and shake her arms and legs
  • Loves her snuggie and is constantly trying to eat it..and anything else for that matter!

We love you so much Harper girl, you complete us all in so many ways. xoxo
